If you change List Mode to Random, it won't change the list.  It just basically puts it into Shuffle mode.

Well I don't want it to change the list - I was thinking, maybe just have it play randomly from the list.  I guess this can all be fixed by just making up your own "random" lists; I'm just lazy!

Randomize as in: I click randomize and the order is randomized for me.

Or you just want it to play songs randomly?  If so, just change the List Mode to Random ;-)

Laf - I hadn't thought of that.  I guess you could totally just structure your playlist that way.  Duh.

Is it possible to randomize among a playlist?

It would certainly be useable.  How often would you use that?  I'm just trying to weigh the coding versus the usage ;-)

Another approach (and one that should work in the dev version) is to just put the same song in the playlist twice.

Okay, so you're talking more about Environments, which I want to add eventually but it's the last on my list (Playlists, Palettes, Environments)

Adding a "Loop" functionality to the Palette Effects might be a decent holdover, though.

Also: I'm still working on getting a new releasable version working with the new data structure.  This morning I whipped up a quick XSL template to transform Adventures from the current Dev version (~0.23) to the new version (which I'll probably be labeling 0.30).

These are good.  I think you have to use a converter to get the BMUs or whatever into MP3 format, but it's worthwhile for easy crap to get you up and running fastly.

You know, it might be really cool to have a "Play for X Times" option...

Thus you could set up a little playlist that would loop, where it would play the first combat track twice, then move to the next one, then go back to the beginning.  This would be good for the ambient/palette/effects loops as well.  As it is you can only loop song or loop the whole thing (or don't loop at all).  Some sort of in-between-er would be nifty.

the NWN discs have a lot of ambient effects.  E.g., there's a bordello loop that has some random conversation, laughter, etc.  I think there's also tavern effects.  And combat effects.

So you can loop these while you're playing actual music in the background, as well.  (Basically exactly what it does in the game.)

I guess I should consider adding a Loop option to sound effects.  It'll change things a little bit, but might be cool.

Can you give me an example of when you're using a looping sound effect?
